i feel that uenoyama thinks that he will never get to yuki's level in mafuyu's heart or mind (not that he has too, he doesn’t have to replace yuki) cause of how yuki is described to him as a fantastic individual that was popular and outgoing, talented, charismatic (honestly i can keep going, but im gonna stop there) uenoyama feels less next to him and doesn’t feel confident, thinks that he can give him(mafuyu) what he deserves .
AND THAT just makes Sad and feel Some kinda way i do not enjoy feeling because I know that right the story is depressing and it keeps making me anxious because of the constant mention of yuki, but it is true that to truly overcome this they must talk about it and get everything out so that in the future it wont cause any difficulties for both parties(and everyone that was close to yuki) in the sense that neither will feel any mental anguish and can happily move on to new experiences.

That's not called shipping. They are just feeling sympathy towards Xue Yang, probably because his story (and this whole arc in general) was very tragic and painful. Even I can't deny that. But according to me, he just missed way too many opportunities to correct his mistakes so it is still unforgivable.

okay this is my humble opinion no one asked for but I need to sort out my feelings about this manga sooo here we go..
About Mafuyu, I know loosing someone you love that way (suicide) can be very traumatizing to a person, especially when it happened only 1 or 2 years ago, so being in a relationship again can be hurtful for him since in the span of those years he could never really sort out his feelings of guilt but I actually feel that he is not forcing himself to be with Uenoyama, he's more like letting himself love again and open up to another person in a long time, and by what I've read he does feel something for him and I can see that by being with him he can express himself better and come to term with his emotions.
He would probably never forget or stop loving Yuki (he was his first love and friend) and he probably knows that (in chapter 11 Mafuyu says that he sees him everywhere anytime) so I think that's probably the main reason he will allow himself to open up to other and love again for his sake and Yuki's too.
In short.... I can see a bright future for Mafuyu and Uenoyama at a correct pace, a strong bond can surely be made(▰˘◡˘▰)
