i won’t lie, eunhyeok should’ve gone to therapy years ago but i will say i think this is a pretty accurate portrayal of how unresolved trauma and mental health problems can manifest.

what really stood out to me was how he was constantly replaying what he wished he had done differently in the past. but in some ways, i think even with the knowledge he has now, i can’t say he would’ve acted entirely differently given that he still hasn’t found the courage to tell sooae anything in present time as of yet.

none of his family was ever there for him the way he needed them to be, leading to the belief that he had to fight his own battles alone and to not be a burden to others. and unfortunately, that is why eunhyeok fears opening up to sooae when all he has ever been met with in the past is judgement and dismissal. and he fears that same reaction the most with sooae because she has become the one person he feels safe with.

i think when ur life has been full of these kind of protracted experiences, there comes a point where u will make choices that don’t always make sense to others. that is the result of what severe trauma and abuse does to ur entire belief system.

controversial opinion but i hate the way this author distorts mental illness.

first of all, how quickly seoan suddenly got over his panic disorder and all of sudden became a fully functioning member of society. and apparently he’s now well enough to flip the shoe on the other foot and take care of woowon. it is abundantly clear with how woowon is rn that a relationship does not fix a person’s mental state.

literally the sex scene doesn’t even make sense. the whole point of woowon’s character is that he doesn’t want to be anything like his abusive dad. sure he might feel anger and grief but now he’s just blatantly raping seoan.

the minute seoan and woowon got together in this manhwa, the writing became lacklustre. like trust me the readers stuck around the first 20 chapters or so without smut, we can live without the characters having to fuck every 5 chapters.
