There's not one significant character in the story who's not fucked up in some way. These people genuinely horrified me and this was a great read precisely because of that. it got so uncomfortable (especially in the rapey parts and the end of the childhood arc) but I don't regret reading it. The leg amputation bit was truly shocking tho. Like the author left no stones unturned exploring the different ways this story could shock the reader.
