Tbh I like that this isn't fast paced. He is not too OP in OPs standards. At least not yet. The concept is literally leveling up with skills. You need to be smart enough to use the skills you learn and work your ass off to get them. Hell, he had to almost die just to obtain most them. So to me, it's easy to accept why he would be OP in the future.
He had the "cheat" on how to get the skills but it's shown how hard it is to get those. It's not just simply going back, get items, fight monsters, but he literally had to do it repeatedly in order for him to get those and that's why I like this.
My favorite character is the ghost tho. I'll be sad when they have to part ways in the future once he complete the quest. ╥﹏╥
