Why does the translator (or author if its a 1to1 translation) got everyone talking like theyre in 9th grade. Like i know some people are finding it funny and thats fine, yknow, humor is subjective- but I'm making this comment to see if anyone feels the same- TO ME the dialog feels extremely juvenile for a comic about adults- Like, make the argument of "college kids actually talk like this" all you want, and sure, ud be right to a degree- but come on. Every other character sounds chronically online-
I'm not saying change it or whatever, at the end of the day, I'm still reading this- it's just an observation and my opinion on it. Nobody's gotta agree with me.
And in the case where u don't see it, I'll just say that the phrase "girl bye" makes me viscerally angry.

One's cultural background is usually indicative of their vernacular and it seems like the translator is using AAVE to transform the direct translations, which makes the dialog more realistic compared to a direct translation. The characters do not sound "juvenile," you're just showing that you aren't familiar with people talking like that in your real life and only hear that language online, which makes sense because AAVE is heavily appropriated online. You're entitled to your opinion, but just do a bit of self-reflection on your own ignorance and biases before propagating them to wider audiences. If you don't like the way this translator translates, then find another scan, or translate the raws yourself.
Heard, but ur making some assumptions about me. I am familiar with aave. I hear it in every day life, I use it myself seeing as ive grown up with it. I hear u, but dont make assumptions on me just cuz its aave.
Im saying this from a perspective that ive heard highschoolers use, abuse, and beat some of these phrased to death (seeing as ive graduated highschool recently), and for clariety sake, i mean all races of highschooler. Whenever i read stuff like this, I cant help but hear it sounding juvenile in my head. As a college student, I don't hear people talk like that as much, it's significantly more sprinkled compared to a high-school. I know this isn't like, the over arching deal, but it's just my findings as I've made my way thru life. Aint nobody tryna hear "girl, bye" at the end of every sentence. And I said this cuz ive lived it. My point being that: every time I hear CERTAIN PHRASES, not all of aave, I can't help but think that it's childish.
Moving onto the idea that this is set in korea- i understand that it was translated, maybe even localized for an English speaking- i dare to even say American- audience, it just feels funky. Just because it was localized, that doesnt change the setting. Just cuz brock called it a donut, doesnt mean its not a rice ball. I don't know if Koreans talk like this. That's not me doubting the translator, that's just me not knowing fr. The only other exposure I've had is other manwha and to be so honest with u rn, I do not care enuf to look.
