Yeah they really shoehorned in two random new ladies with essentially the same personalities of the guys they were paired with but genderswapped to get paired with the guys so it feels even more like a "NO" from the writers but a "Maybe if one of them was a a girl then maybe we would've let it happen (we can't have homos in shoujo)" so it feels like a slap in the face.

The drug scene might feel like cheating, but I feel like it's rather necessary to showcase that Belle isn't completely under Aiden's spell yet. She's so enamored by him when he's there but when he's not it was as if the spell waned and she immediately looked for a way out.
