You have to understand from Jichan’s pov too it’s been more than a decade since he has last seen him, randomly a guy that looks nothing like Mido kidnaps him, and does all sorts of horrible things to him, he then tells him he’s Mido, the guy he has searched for such a long time. He only remembers the 14 years old Mido and can’t believe that a guy like Eugene can actually be the cute little teen he fell in love with and I feel like that’s pretty normal, anyone would think this is a hard truth to accept
