To those who are saying that Nami is the “worst” & she’s not a good friend to Sumin for not telling her about what happen to sunhwa..then wait until you read the latest chapter...ch. 126

Sumin has no right to be upset by Nami...

Now I really feel bad about what happen to sunhwa..she deserves better....

I saw the raws and I honestly feel like Sumin's redemption is going to be a very difficult thing for them to pull off, As much as I constantly try to empathize with her during the period she was primarily trying to self destruct, the way she was with Sunhwa is inexcusably awful, especially after knowing how badly things were going for her.

Agree!!! What she did to Sunhwa is terrible...I don’t know how will the author turn this story around & how will this affect the story but regardless of what will happen Sunhwa is already dead & I think she died with a heavy heart which is really sad..she really deserves happiness in life from what she have gone through ...

I can’t with Sumin, seriously Can we have Seju & Do Won again with their Fluff!?

    eikichi00 October 17, 2019 10:18 am

Yup, so Sumin did meet up with Sunhwa sometime after her parents died and she broke up with Seju. Suffice it to say, she didn't exactly get a warm reunion with her best friend. If anything, Sunhwa seems pretty cold towards her, probably hugely disappointed to see her becoming this player who goes around sleeping with whoever she damn pleases. It's possible Sumin who was drunk at the time and had just broken up with another girl, tried to make a move on her which disgusted her even more so. Hell, Sunhwa might have told Nami herself (if they did bump into each other) that she's not interested to know anything more about Sumin and perhaps Nami decided it's also best Sumin doesn't know anything about her.

Either way, this doesn't paint Sumin in a good light at all. She looks like a bad person who has a lot to answer for.

Yes, but that was Sumin in the past, with a broken heart, broken mind and soulless to the point she didn’t care anymore. The Sumin from now, is realizing the consequences of her wrongs with a new light (or so I hope). The same as we can say, the person we used to be is not the same as today. Knowledge our mistakes and learning from them it’s what makes us grow and lead to the right path to evolve, alone or with the help from others.
I do think that’s the author’s direction in this side story. To make amends and be at peace with.
And as for Sungji, if she does get to know about this, will state something like “ When someone knocks on my door I go and say - Who is it?, and not who was it.”
In the end, nobody is perfect. Everybody has their demons and their ways to deal with them. Life can be harsh but, it can also be sweet, if you remember it enough to let go all that isn’t good. But, yes, respect and consideration should be always at first, to avoid regrets in the future.

As much as I agree that her self-destructive nature within the period was logical to a fault, I still don't think it justifies being completely unaware of everyone else,

(I don't condone what she did to Seju but I understand it because Seju is directly part of the cause for her trauma and indirectly the reason for her physical assault)
and how that also makes her personality a bit ruinous concerning her relationships thereafter (that she becomes distant and hard to figure out and how she probably unconsciously lets those relationships fail knowing it wasn't what she was looking for)

but Sunhwa is outside of that, at that point in time she was just an old friend who, realistically, you'd assume had moved on (which was her condition for being friends again),
I wasn't expecting her to be friendly with her given the circumstances, but to find a friend by chance in a bad situation and for your first instinct being (what I assume from the context clues) was propositioning them and then rejecting an offer to reconnect in the manner that she did was a bit much

(depression is debilitating and destructive, but it doesn't excuse you from everything) so as much as I understood what she had done to Seju and the many women she had tried to wedge in between to distance herself with,

it still stands that what she did to Sunhwa was awful on a different scale

the time she cut things off the first time, I thought that was acceptable in a sense, it was her drawing the line
she was in a situation where in she was dating someone but couldn’t tell her friends, and one of which was in love with her and would constantly ask her to choose between them,

Sumin also seemed genuinely concerned everytime she did or was about to do something she felt Sunhwa would misunderstand (like how she became concious of drinking from the same bottle as Sunhwa, or how she tries to correct herself when she tells Sunhwa she likes her a lot on the Ferriswheel)

It seemed like she was afraid of stringing her along without meaning to, and that the only choice she had was to distance herself until Sunhwa’s feelings go away.

But in this chapter it just feels more like Sunhwa was disposable to her and someone she really doesn’t feel any concern for even if just as someone who’d once been a good friend.

I’m not saying Sumin is irredeemable, I don’t believe that one bit, but I do think it will be a difficult feat to rectify her wrongs in this arc, I'm still hopeful it'll turn things around, but also concerned for the manner they'd choose to do it.

You're right in that nobody is perfect. Every character has their own flaws just like real people. But having said that, there's a limit on how much the readers should tolerate and accept a flawed character. I can't speak for all readers but I find Sumin atm to be pretty frustrating as a character, as her bad/ugly side is yet again being exposed in the last side story (something we've already seen too often in the main story), showing her this time to be a lousy friend who has all but forgotten about that close friend she had from school and blew her only chance to reconcile with her before she died.

To tell you the truth, I'm a tad disappointed that this last side story is more or less destined to be another redemption plot for Sumin to deal with her mistake in the past and Sungji is reduced to being the supporting character. Pretty much a rehash of the main story itself. What's more upsetting is finding out Sunhwa (whom I'll be pondering about her purpose in the story ever since she shows up in Paradise), had been killed off for the sake of Sumin's character development. In the short amount of time she appeared, she actually seems like an interesting character with lots of potential to her. But sadly, those potentials have gone to waste.

I honestly thought we were done with her drama, and that we would see a very mature and confident Sumin who's no longer burdened by the past after the 4 years time skip. Perhaps the focus would shift more onto Sungji (who honestly need more character development of her own beyond just being Sumin's lover) and how she might face problems of her own, and this time Sumin can show that she can be emotionally strong for her.

I do agree in your point of view. If Sunhwa was alive it could bring more refreshing possibilities into the plot (not necessary another love triangle). But, I guess drama will prevail in WDTFS with unresolved issues for the same character. Why? Maybe a personal struggle from the author? In fact, It would be more interesting to see some kind of conflict on Sungji side and see how Sumin would interact to it. However, my expectations to that are low, considering to the limited chapters to be given. It might be yet a turn of the events, and it would be nice if there is more to the story, than just one side Sumin. Everything is possible and I do hope not to see another rushed side story in the middle of it.

Hinata is so cute! She needs her oppai..give it to her ..

And also mayumi’s snake friend is so obvious that she wants mayumi to suffer..she did that sh*t on purpose...I bet she’s not even pregnant...if that b*tch will ever come to mayumi again I will cut her myself..

And also hinata is cute

Oksusu-chan October 13, 2019 5:00 pm

Do sunhwa really have to die? ..It’s so sad!..she must have suffered a lot...I can see her being shipped with Nami or Dawoon though..but she died

And also I understand Nami when she said that “Why should I have told you about someone who never even crossed your mind?” that actually made sense..I was just thinking maybe Sumin didn’t even try to contact sunhwa again when they went to college or somethin’..Sunhwa must have felt alone at that time..i really felt bad for her ..

Oksusu-chan October 10, 2019 10:17 pm

Wait? Like is this another version?
