Overall. I get the gist of low rating, the story has a lot of tropes and plot twist that feel like being thrown into a limbo and FL is just being tossed around. I pity the FL so much. Girl's pride and self-worth have been eaten up by her surroundings her current family, the village she lived before being taken in to count's family, the nobility and even the royalty; only few sees her worth. Her responses are so in her character. Being illegitimate child is the ultimate sin of the world. Even with all the achievements, she has gotten, she will always be reduced back into being treated like a trash.
This is one of the stories that romance really had no purpose at all. Yes, FL got saved by ML a lot of times and do flirt on her but with the cruel environment she had, and her low self-worth, marriage and power won't really matter. The past she cannot control still haunts her and now she is in a sudden arranged marriage all the more stressors that would crumble her, literally, even her last wills on living cannot save her which the spoilers of the novel had pointed out. She devalues herself a lot and even the environment she is doubles down and even have the nerve to send their daughters which crumbled FL even more. Even how tough a person is, there is a breaking point of enduring the pain and once that point is reached, there is no going back.
It is more fitting that she had left and disappeared without a trace. Build her self-worth and live her life as she wishes.
Also the father is really so stupid and dumb!!! My man! There are so many ways to help an orphan out. Sponsorship or her being adopted to foster family that won't tarnish her as the illegitimate daughter. No need to take in your out of wedlock daughter and labelled her as an official illegitimate daughter.
chapter 57 has shown the FLs breaking down. Those are cries of exhuastion on her part..
