Erna has a miscarriage. She already has all these bottled up anger and sadness about Björn, feels unloved and after the miscarriage and the reveal of his first wife's misdeeds to the public she doesn't feel like she owes him anything anymore, so she leaves him in the middle of the night when he again doesn't turn up to share a bed with her.

I honestly think that it's alright if she loses the baby. After learning what was Bjorn's thoughts of why to marry her, that child would just bring bad memories. Personally, i think it would be better to have a child when they are alright with eachother, a child where they created out of love, not lies. For now, i think the miscarriage will help trigger her 'wake up call', it will help her think for a while without a baby. Without the baby, nothing will keep her tied from Bjorn. That's how i take the miscarriage plot :)))
