That's not the case though, they know that it's not really suicide, considering she is going to go back to her world. So no, it wouldn't make them sicker than they are now. Now they're just disregarding her will and are about to condemn her with a life worse than death.

Can't remember if it's mentioned in the webtoon but it was mentioned that they knew, probably from the priest in the novel. You have to check it out yourself. Also please do read the novel, it's really worth it. It's actually better than the webtoon and in general it explains everything much better.

All I remember is her telling the crown prince that she was a different soul. As far as I know, the prince knows she’s a different soul and that she wants to die and red hair thinks she’s mentally ill, which is why she wants to kill herself. They both know the priest knows some shxt, but I think the priest didn’t volunteer anymore information than what she’s already said. That’s why I’m surprised by the person who told me they all know that she wants to do this to return to her original world. I thought I skipped a chapter.

Okay because unless I skipped a chapter in the webtoon, I don’t think they actually know. So far no one can say for sure that they do and the priest has been keeping things lowkey. Personally I’m not enough into the story to be intrigued by the novel. I only read stories that’s exceed my expectations in a good way, like Trash of the Count’s family. That’d be a light novel recommendation from me . There’s a webtoon too. But it’s not shoujo.

I think you're right about the red head in the webtoon, but in the novel I'm pretty sure they both know. I said "probably" they know from the priest because in the novel it's not mentioned how they really know, it may be a plot hole. Either way, even if they didn't really know, they still wouldn't stop her suicide out of the kindness of their heart, it'd be for selfish reasons. If it was the real Eris they would kill her in a heartbeat, it's not that they care about an innocent person commiting suicide, so in my perspective, they're still just as sick. Also sorry for the confusion lol It's been a while since I read the webtoon, i only have the novel fresh in my memory.

I've read the novel you recommended, and i absolutely loved it! The webtoon was quite good as well, you don't miss that much in comparison to the novel. He's one of my favorites mcs along with Kim Dokja from "omniscient reader's viewpoint". I do recommend this one as well.

Honesty I think it’s a little more complexed than that. They’ve all interacted with her in ways that was way different than they used to with OG Eris and I can’t say she didnt deserve the cold shoulder, that girl was a real bully to Helena. I feel like all of them: Helena, OG Eris and the trio male leads handled their whole interactions poorly. But that’s past shxt. As for the current Eris (you know most of this already but I’ll say it anyway for the sake of conversation):

The red head has been worried about this Eris ever since he found out that she actually wanted to kill herself and that was near the beginning of the webtoon. He was worried about her mental health and then started to get overly involved in stopping her from following that path. To him she’s just mentally ill and I suspect his feelings for her grew out of that concern. I find him so blameless that I struggle to understand why so many hate him, except for the obvious fact that they’re following Eris’ feelings on the matter.

The crown prince (now emperor) had an epiphany. He didn’t like the way OG Eris loved him, but as his relationship with Helena progressed and his with the new Eris deteriorated, he realized that something was off with Eris. He couldn’t pinpoint why it bothered him so much that she stopped loving him, which is when he realized that being loved so completely the way OG Eris loved him is something he should’ve actually appreciated and perhaps reciprocated because no one else shown him that level of love before. Now that he knows OG Eris died, he’s basically clinging to her body and what she represents to him. Him not wanting her to die is in no way sick. I feel like many readers want her to get her death scene so badly that they forget that normally, you can’t just be okay with someone trying to kill themselves. “Selfish” really isn’t a word that fits this narrative in my opinion. (If he hadn’t actually assaulted her under the emperor’s order, I wouldn’t have hated the guy).

The priest is basically in love with her, so it makes sense. It grosses me out quite frankly, but the fact remains that anyone who loves someone else won’t want to see them die. Calling it selfish is rather dismissive of how severe death actually is. However he’s the only one who doesn’t have an excuse because he actually knows she’ll just return to her original word.

I honestly struggle to remember who’s who when I read the novel for omniscient readers viewpoint. I can remember names easy when I read Japanese names, but when we move to Korean and Chinese, the names just don’t stay fixed in my brain. so I’ll stick to the webtoon for now.

I don't disagree with that, of course every person has had different interactions with og Eris, and yup, she's not blameless, but i believe she was the first to be wronged. She had the prince and basically everyone assume things about her, and on top of that, with every chance they humiliated her to the point she became the vindictive person that ended up as.She was getting the cold shoulder way before her actions(she actually used to be friends with Helena), and i think there's a chapter in the webtoon as well where it's shown (altho there are still a few differences in comparison to the novel). Also definitely, their interactions sucked, but the original reason everything turned out so warped is the prince(which i do recognize is traumatized). That is only for OG Eris of course. Helena also is probably the person i pity the most, since basically her will is controlled by both the circumstances and her position as a mere maid.

Hmm i believe the reason most people hate the redhead is because he chose to disregard what Eris was trying to say to him and chose to project his personal feelings to her instead. Not sure if it's shown in the webtoon, but there's a part in the novel where he appears extremely delusional, to the point he genuinely believed that he and her are alike. He basically didn't try once to understand her circumstances and assumed what he wanted to assume in the novel. Add to that the fact that his behavior was extremely frustrating when it came to Mc's plans and voila, you got a character that is very hated by people that connect with Eris pov. It's a subjective thing i guess. Either way, he's not a selfless character, he is also trying in his own way to deal with his own demons at the expense of mc's will. He's not really trying to "save" her because he thinks suicide is bad, but because he wants to save the part of himself he mistakenly sees in her. I myself don't hate him, but i do find him sick. Almost everyone in this novel is besides mc(that just has a clear goal) and her knight. They all deal with their own trauma.

As for the prince, while i understand your perspective, I don't really see it that way. I find it "sick" because as you said he clings to the image of og Eris, to the point that he doesn't care about the feelings of the soul that is actually trapped in there nor her fate. He is willing to forget the fact that Eris(not og) literally murdered Helena, a completely innocent person, all because he wants to cling to the memory of the person that he believes is going to give him the love he never got. It's not that he's not okay with her losing her life because she's innocent, he just wants a vessel that will keep his emotions stable, the inside of the vessel doesn't really matter. Of course, as i said before, how you see can be subjective and will also depend on how many details you know about the story. Perhaps your view would be different if you also read the novel and perhaps mine would as well if i only read the webtoon. At the end of the day, an opinion is not a fact.

All good points, though I really can’t argue over anything novel related because it’s clearly a different experience altogether. Especially when it comes to the red head anyway.

Now when it comes to the priest, i agree, but I don't really think that people call it selfish because they want to dismiss how severe death is but because they connect with how the characters see Eris, they notice the motives of the characters, which in my opinion are not connected to the importance they give to life, but more so to the importance they give to their personal feelings over the version of Eris they choose to see. Basically, they don't call selfish the priest's need to not see the person he loves die, but his willingness to sacrifice her will and happiness for the sake of his obsession. Their actions don't symbolize a pure unwillingness to lose a person that is innocent, but a strong need to hold on the version of Eris they have projected. Eris, to people that don't know all the details(them) is just as "evil" as the previous Eris, because they know she killed Helena yet in comparison to the previous Eris that they would have just killed, they want to keep an obsessive hold of her.
