He suffered from an accident 17 years ago and suffered from amnesia (still does). He is plan after meeting and falling in love with Camilla’s mum was to return to Garcia empire to tell his family about his impending marriage to the mum, than come back for her and Ravi. When he didn’t return, the mum was heartbroken thinking he lied and used her, leaving her pregnant. Honestly I don’t know why he didn’t just take them with him in the first place. Since he had amnesia, he forget all about the mum and the promise to marry her. He married someone else and had a son with her, he also adopted a boy from his branch family.
I’m not excusing him, but giving a reason why he didn’t know about her until now. Really tho, he could have just went to the Fable Empire to figure what happened during period he can’t remember. Depending on when he could have went he could have either went during the time Camilla was still live with her brother and mum or after Camilla was adopted into the Duke family. If he went when she’s already part of the Duke Sorphel family, he would have heard about her or seen her, since there was so many rumours about the old Camilla (Lee Sia).
How was he not curious about happened in the Fable Empire. Or why didn’t he bother to look for his heirloom ring, since the last time he had was when he was in the Fable Empire, and by the time he returned to Garcia Empire he didn’t have it.
Also can u blame the adoptive father for what he had done in the past. Due to the soul swap he literally couldn’t help but to feel uncomfortable/hate Camilla (Lee Sia), not mention the way Lee Sia acted in the past; ruining the rose bed for no reason (he didn’t know about the servants hiding the ring, until Camilla revealed it), the way she acted in school and in society, acting unruly, stalking Petro, kidnapping Layla, attempting to kill Layla, attempting to kill Ludville and overthrow the Duchy. While I feel bad for why happen to Lee Sia, she was treated badly, but she still chose to do all those things. Ravi may have manipulated her when she was trying to kill Ludville and take over the Duchy, the Rose bed incident is mainly the evil servants fall out and the incident at the ball was because the girl provoked her. But everything else was her own free will. No one told her to kidnapping and attempted to kill Layla, that was her jealousy.
Yes she’s a victim in this, she didn’t asked to thrown into the wrong body, because it was too dangerous for the real owner to be there, or the fact that soul swap made people around her hate her, she still had free will which lead to her own action that had dire consequences. Camilla herself didn’t let the hatred from her biological family, make her lash out to people, instead she decided to focus on her acting career, not to mention she’s constantly being bother by ghosts. She was also abused, yet she didn’t try to murder people. She worked hard to make her life better.
At least Lee Sia has a system to help her out in the modern world now that she’s returned to her rightful body. It would have been unfair if Camilla had it easier when she returned to real body.
