There's more than just mentioning the title throughout the story there could be deeper than that. for instances, the cigarettes could mean the bitterness of the past and the chocolates as the sweetness of their love.
Adults smoke cigarettes, kids like chocolate. Cigarettes and chocolate shows the age gap
