The murderer probably has friends in high places, so if the mc just report him it’s literally his word against the rich guy. And he is author or horror books so police would say he is delusional lol. The shower thing was about DNA, the rich guy could turn everything against him without proof. To me it makes a lot of sense lol
Probably cuz he has cheated people, stolen their shit and deceived them. He also seems to clearly have some trauma. Telling the police might backfire if the blondie killer is "clean", without any traces and glasses boi will probably end up in jail.
