(cause i can't read korean & hopefully these side stories translated will finally give me answers ) is that Sunbae never lost his memories, more like they reincarnated into the future and sunbae slowly got his memories back from his past life. (I'm guessing he remembers when Hosik is rushed to the hospital)
And the side stories mostly tell Hosik & Sunbae's tragic story in the past and the birth of their new baby girl.
