Well, I would like to present a new theory: Kaoru doesn't have a string for as long as he is the one with the power; however, as soon as one of the twins develops it, Kaoru's string will "be born" or, more precisely, it will become visible. Maybe Kaoru even loses his ability of seeing strings once a new person acquires the ability, but you get my thing: Kaoru and Hara are soulmates in the end and he will find out when the twin points out Kaoru's string attached to someone already ヾ(☆▽☆)
Kaouru should know if such possibility existed, he's not the first generation having such abilities
My theory is that people with the ability never stay too long near their (twin) siblings to find out that they actually do have the string. Kaoru himself resents his brother to some extend, since he found his soulmate and built a family, while Kaoru is stuck losing everyone he falls in love with. It's never mentioned about their family, so that's what I think: before the new generation develops the power, the older one kinda just loses touch, so they never realized it.

First, I gotta say I love Sooha's and chief's friendship; I really like how they managed to still be so close and trusting after all.
Second, I need to be that person. The way the author is leading the story, although it's clear Ms. Doh is shady as hell and probably a nasty person, I don't think she and the chief will break up because of it. My experience with the author's other work (Raising a Bath) makes me believe that they will show Ms. Doh's true character, and yet will redeem her somehow and give her happiness in the end, since "everyone" deserves love.
Yeah everyone does deserve love except her cause she destroyed the MC life at work and no matter how much he struggles he nor she can turn back the hands of time. So in my own personal opinion she needs to suffer just like the MC did
I agree 100%. To me, there are some things that just aren't redeemable, and destroying someone's livelihood and then abusing that same person for months is one of them.

The first volume (Boku no Kawaii Yopparai) was perfect in every way. This new one added a drama to their story which, although somewhat unnecessary, helped to deepen the characters. Still, it feels very incomplete; nothing really changed by the end of the story? Chii and Hina talked alright, by neither of them seemed to have gotten over their issues (issues, btw, that were introduced to us through this volume, so basically, they were opened and then..... left there?). This seems to be more of a background plot, which is still waiting to be finalized.
So I think (hope) a new volume will come out eventually, and then we will get not only half a chapter of them telling each other "yeah maybe let's not break up" but, ya know, real problem solving.
