According to Yuri, no one survived Ilay’s monster C. Ilay is a selfish and horny azzhole. He didnt care about what happened to his partner in bed, he only cared about his own pleasure and whats worse, hes got an abnormal size dck (reason why Tae couldnt enjoy sexy moments with Ilay in passion, he couldnt take his dck too). Most of Ilay’s sx partners either ended up in the hospital or being sent to the other side. He’s fascinated that Tae survived.
In the novel, when Ilay told Gable not to barge in when hes with Tae and to forget everything he saw, it was in a threatening manner. Ilay, being emotionally dumb and stupid, couldnt figure out why Tae cried and it bothered him a lot (he hated seeing Tae cry that way). Yuri was shocked that for the first time, Ilay seems to be showing an affection for someone and starting to care for them (and it’s someone like Taeui whom he thought was plain, but then later on realised that Xinlu is also obsessed with him lol). Tae is kind-hearted and a ball of sunshine, perhaps thats the reason why these crazy mfs easily fall in love with him. I believe Yuri also saw Ilay that morning smiling affectionately at Tae who was sleeping on the hammock.
Anyway, Yuri’s pov is always fascinating when he talks about Iltae’s relationship and damn yall soon see a very unhinged, very desperate Ilay. You wont see any Ilay x Tae moments for a while. Also pls read passion raga

It wasnt really that fascinating to be an observant or audience of iltae, it's like watching a cat dangle a mouse in it's mouth till it's bored and eats his food. Gable is just used to Rick being a monster, who rapes and lefts his victim have rectal prolapse (all the victims or people who were too horny to see how much of a monster he is) that they demand and sue Rick but it never happen. Anyway, the point I'm getting is that Rick is just murderer with no conscience with his victims but to see Taeui the only one who Rick has feelings for and Rick changing from a monster to a human.
Oh I get your point and I also agree with you. I just think Yuri’s pov is fascinating in a way that hes always shocked, even curious, to see this heartless monster who do not bat an eye sending anyone to the other side show his human side for the first time (and yuri is also witnessing it, right in front of his salad)
