nah don't take what I said as legit. I just made an assumption based on context clues. The earrings were seen warn by the sun breather and Tanjirou's dad had it, now he does. Tanjirou is not a blood relative to sun breath users, the younger twin brother of kukoshibo probably taught the breath to tanjirou's ancestor and passed down the earrings to them, but they ain't blood related... Tanjirou's family probably have the strongest affinity to sun breath cus they're closely related to fire (coal burners)
That punishment is stupid in my opinion, they should have punished him as he was with her his memories intact not when he's a girl now and doesnt even know what she did in her past life it's so stupid, it's like punishing a different person completely I mean she doesn't remember what she did she's actually a relatively good person and stuff i mean if they actually wanted to punish him they should have left his memories intact so it's actually him and not a different person with his soul completely changed
