Their story is more interesting. Toono was the first person Yacchan would show his imperfect side to and the first person who accepted him for who he was and he could be the real him around him. The change they make in each other is positive. Compared to the other ship which is simply two people who joined a strange club and go with it.

So I just checked again and the evil stepmom is the aunt of Jitae (based on around ch 14), and the fight is between her and Jitae to decide who will inherit the company. This lady is tge stepmom of Jian, as Jian was born from a mistress.
So all in all she is an evil stepmom haha
