is Jin-woo turning into a shadow himself???
Like he always has a black substance around him and his eyes light up purple just like his shadows, and then in that one panel the Monarch saw him and it looked like he was one of his armoured soldiers
like maybe its a situation where the more powerful he gets and the greater his army numbers, he starts turning into a shadow himself
and like why in the world would Jin-woo be the calamity? the enemy? this is crazy bro

SPOILER!!!
LIKE, A LOT OF SPOILS
MANY SPOILS
He’s kinda the shadow MONARCH lol. Well, the shadow monarch kinda chose him as his “successor” of sorts bc he kept seeing Jin-woo keep going through gates and hard work and yada yada, and the architect made the system to help Jin-woo become powerful and become the next Monarch, but yknow, Jin-woo kinda said f*ck you I’m saving humanity and killing all the other monarchs. The OG shadow monarch was kinda warring against the other monarchs.
The rulers I think? made the gates to prepare the Earth and the humans for a war on their planet with the rulers and Monarchs so they could have powerful humans that would be able to survive the war and repopulate the earth afterwards.
All the shadow soldiers that Jin-woo collected were part of the OG Shadow monarch army (THATS WHY IGRIS WAS GUARDING AN EMPTY THRONE!!!) and there will be more best boi shadows. Many fluffy moments lol.

You are wise to ignore the spoiler, but you can pretty much tell from how it's going that he was suppose to become the Shadow Monarch when he was fighting the Architect in the double dungeon the second time and had been forced into the awakening.
When he was seeing the past of the Shadow Monarch being betrayed by his allies in the end he saw the promise in Jin-Woo and granted him his power like an inheritance. You can tell by the fact he didn't awaken as the Shadow Monarch, but awoke the power bestowed upon him from seeing the memories and earning the right.
I'm not 100% on why the Shadow Monarch took a backseat on this war, but I'm sure it has something to do with not wanting to fight another war as it seemed that ended in the destruction of their world from the looks of it for it to cross over into Jin-Woo's world.
I'm tempted to read the novel from all the darn cliff hangers that it's pushing me to read it to see the events even though I know the ending lol. I know reading it will allow the info to sink in better and there might be more scenes or details not in the webtoon that will be in the novel.

wow thank you for helping me understand this clearer! I also have been contemplating reading the novel multiple times to get all my questions answered and cause of those darn cliff-hangers, but I'm trying to hold off until the Manhwa ends (which seems to be a while haha)
Plus with the light novel, I won't be able to see and screenshot my handsome boy Jin-woo hehe
