Hopefully, considering how the last chapter ended, we'll all be returning to the main couple. They're cute. They're perfect. They're not brothers. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
WTF?! Why didn't we get a kiss?? Some kind of romantic ish after ALL THE OTHER CHANCES?
Also, there was zero closure re: the prince's unrequited love. He could have at least told Lancer.
But def needed Ravel and Lancer to kiss or something. Ugh. Why. Feels like queer-baiting.
This relationship is so unhealthy. I had hoped it would develop into something healthy, but it didn't. Although I still read it, I feel like this story romanticized unhealthy relationship dynamics.
I also had hoped to see Yohan's brother, because someone on the FYL topics said that this story "is about Yohan's brother, too".
FOS has a lot of story insights into what might happen in therapy, without the characters going through therapy, and I think that's what irks me the most. Their relationship began as an abusive one, and we don't receive closure that it's no longer abusive.
Regardless of attachment style (seems like anxious + avoidant, which will trigger each other and def something needing to be worked through), the relationship is still unhealthy. Nothing excuses it, and that entire aspect is glazed over as the teacher behaves as if he has Stockholm syndrome.
Ugh I'm rereading and skipping around, but I always forget why he uses the leaf images and what they mean. Does anyone remember or know the chapter they're explained?
...and they're all gone. In the beginning, I thought perhaps they had something healthy, but the Duke is clearly obsessed with Maythan for mysterious reasons and doesn't actually like Maythan himself
