I personally don't like it when a character's only motive is being a support for an mc. They do nothing for themself and have no purpose of living except listen and solve mc's problems. Poor written imo. Instead of someone like that, I'm good with someone who thinks himself first. I mean, his selfish actions, harsh words are also a succesfor mc, right? He is not someone with ill intentions either. Win win for me.
I agree he shouldnt just be a supportive little fairy, but he shouldnt be a bitch either (bros in a bad mood with the friend group 24/7 i think he should find other people) The way he handles any situation is very explosive and thats the worst way to get ur message through to someone (they will take it as offense not advice).

The plot going so slow but i kinda like this pacing. Also mc has a diff aura, love him so much. Idk, I think I just love him being so chill with his feelings. He's in love for decade but not a shy and tingly type around his crush. Also not a stupid, pick me or self sacrificing character. His "tired of living" kind of energy got me everytime lol
