I truly loved the way they handled the struggles of same sex marriage in a conservative country. I feel it tenfold because I’m likely to be in a similar situation myself in the future. It’s so unfair that loving anyone of the same gender and wanting to start a life with them is so difficult.

Apparently the manga removed the romance/ bl tag on the official upload site, and the author has also confirmed that Hikaru isn’t in love with yoshiki…

thats all well and good but 'hikaru' literally split itself in half to keep yoshiki from feeling afraid of it. i think there are some complicated feelings there lol.
additionally, this author is a noted horror/psychological bl author lol. so if they're adjusting a bit to get this serialized i really don't mind. i'm sure the general vibe will remain the same.

Then you'd know web ace never had a BL tag, neither did kadokawa, nor any of the reselers. BL tag was not removed, it was never there. Also an Eldritch horror not being able to comprehend love makes perfect sense, were you expecting 'Hikaru' and Yoshiki together?? The story changed from oneshot to serialised, but the serialised always had the same direction.
The stuff that was deleted wasn't just BL drawings(the only bl-like drawing was the kiss one btw), everything but the one shot got removed, all the extra illustrations they drew for this before serialisation, mostly because it was full of spoilers for the official release. You'll see that happen a lot, once an author gets a serialisation offer, to remove potential spoilers and to not muddy the waters in case they decide to change sth. Whether they were pressured to remove certain parts or decided to rewrite it themselves idk but this was never baiting anyone

Never about how they were going to end up together. Also for all the things that she deleted, I was only looking for some of her “bl” ish content which were deleted, I didn’t account for any of her other drawings from that time frame, so again, you’re probably right about that too.
