my absolute favorite type of art style in Manila is when the author draws every single thing by hand. I love to look at the art and appreciate every single panel and all the hard work put into it, especially with the coloring. The story itself was a tragedy, and I knew from the get-go what was going to happen but it still doesn’t make it less sad. Surprisingly I didn’t cry, but it left me with conflicting feelings about the doctor and how the boyfriend was still unwilling to accept how he had wronged his partner
that you realize your feelings. smfh. also im excited to hear his backstory, it never excuses his shitty behavior but i want to see why he turned out such a shitty person
