my absolute favorite type of art style in Manila is when the author draws every single thing by hand. I love to look at the art and appreciate every single panel and all the hard work put into it, especially with the coloring. The story itself was a tragedy, and I knew from the get-go what was going to happen but it still doesn’t make it less sad. Surprisingly I didn’t cry, but it left me with conflicting feelings about the doctor and how the boyfriend was still unwilling to accept how he had wronged his partner
went back to chapter 1 after the last chapter to see how well the art improved and let me just say it was a jump scare…

such a wierdo, incestual vibe going on… walking into somebody’s dorm when they’re not there and digging through their trash is crazy… like obviously he’s the reason for the house is burning down and the parents dying. He also did a white knight manipulation tactic, causing the brother to be alone and acting like he is the savior that is going to keep the brother out of trouble like no sir he’s not cursed. You’re the one that is trying to seclude him from the rest of the world.
