If I'm remembering the spoliers correctly, she isn't really given a choice but to be engaged to the redhead. I'm not 100% sure this is fully correct but I think she was being forced to marry the king or someone powerful who wanted her wealth. Things happened where she got a bunch of money and people coveted it, and redhead was the safetest and only choice to avoid being forced into a marriage she couldn'tget out of. Blonde hair and her were in love and talking but stopped completely for a while as a result of a misunderstanding. Also they didn't have access to see eachother to fix said misunderstanding, cause blonde was far away somewhere. I also believe the misunderstanding was the result of someome plotting against the mc and blonde. But anyway,, she gets engaged to red and there is a brief period where she thinks maybe he has changed but she quickly realizes nope he still is trash and leaves him after she doesn't need him anymore. She never actually falls back in love with him and does actively try to avoid him until she doesn't have a choice and the minute she can leave him she does and goes back to blonde after the misunderstanding is fixed. Like I said it was a while ago when I read through the spoliers so I might have left some things out or made a mistake somewhere, but overall she doesn't get engaged with redhead because she likes him, forgives him, or anything of the sort. It's only because she needs a shield from someone way more powerful than her and he's her only choice.
