I feel like Joowon's character and the dilemma some readers are feeling now about him illustrates our stereotype of what an abuser/asshole looks like.
I see readers trashing the story as if the author couldn't put Joowon having nice gestures to Haesoo and at the same time be also someone who can be an asshole or even abusive.
Joowon is both a likable and an unlikable character if you see he can be both an asshole and also caring. Also, a reader can like Joowon as a character and still not think he is the kind of boyfriend or partner anyone should have.
If, if the author's intention is to show how an unhealthy relationship can last for years and how partners who loves us also can be the ones who hurt us the most, Joowon portrait is actually accurate based on real life. If anyone is interested in the discussion, tak a look at the psychology support center article below, it's quite an interesting read.

Thank you for the translation!!
I wish we could see the characters inner thoughts. That seemed to be more common before in earlier chapters when we would get these glimpses of Yashiro's thoughts.... He was way more 'talkative' to himself. Now we are pretty much only on the outside watching them so it's really all personal interpretations and I honestly suck at it.
For instance, what does it mean Yashiro's gesture of covering one eye when looking at Doumeki through the glass? ... We get Yashiro's POV and his hand makes a shadow and cut off part of the vision. Such a weird gesture. Was he trying to cutting off the other people and focus only on Doumeki? What the hell is he doing ?
If Saezuru was a movie, it would be great if we had those extras with the director's commentary about what the scene meant and what was the idea behind it.

This story is so sweet but the amount of drama because of misunderstandings, false assumptions and lack of communication is so frustrating!!! I supposed it must be an allegory to the obstacles of a romance between a hear impaired and an able hear person.
The side characters are all interesting too. I love the brothers Chiba and Ryuu but I do hope they don't make a move on any of them. There is way too much drama already without any love triangle plot.
Thanks for this update!!!
How can Yashiro look so gorgeous and so miserable at the same time??
and Doumeki ... the man is even hotter, how's that possible too?
Why is Yashiro sleeping with that pig??? That's so sad...
