But she wasn't sacrificing his life. The demon only wanted her to break up. From her POV, he was a great guy and she was sure he'd find someone else.

No, of course if she was saying, "Kill him for my cat's life". Yeah, that's horrible.

But the deal was "break up with him and you're cat will live a long life". She probably already felt like the relationship wasn't working and wanted to break up anyway and thought "Well, why not safe Cotton and he's a good guy. He'll find a partner who better suits him".

So that's not a fair analogy at all.

the issue is she's exchanging someone's happiness and autonomy in exchange for a cat. Her breaking up with Joongwhan is perfectly fine should she choose too. Yet, we don't know for certain if she broke up with Joongwhan because of stale relationship or because she took a bribe. That ambiguity does matter sure. However as she said she signed an NDA to not tell Joongwhan that Chiwon is deliberately emotionally harming Joongwhan in exchange for her own personal gain. It's established Chiwon is in fact evil enough to not care how far he must go to control Joongwhan's happiness but as we can see he's also literally controlling Joongwhan's life itself. She might not know that she is in fact contributing to Chiwon's hold over Joongwhan, but we as readers do.

It's not exactly fucked up if you consider that people who make this type of choice do not face the dilemma of choosing a cat rather than a human being but a living creature over another living creature, and when rationally the value of two things or two people is same, what makes the difference is the amount of emotional attachment you have with the two....maybe the lady still loved Joonghwon, but the emotional attancement with her cat was much stronger.

That makes no sense. So she is the reason for Joong's happiness and autonomy? If they break up, his happiness and autonomy will be gone. Even if you put aside the demon, that would mean she could never break up with him at all. She is solely responsible for his happiness and autonomy.

We do know she was clearly not in love with Joon. She cried at the thought of her cat living, yet didn't appear even the least bit sorry to see Joong go. She was like, "He'll find someone better". That's not something you think if you're in love with someone. She did not even seem sad to see him go. She just seemed to feel a little guilty that she might have hurt him and that was it.

What does that have to do with your original comment attacking a commenter for light-heartedly saying "Can't hate sis for saving her cat's life"? You went on a tirade how she had exchanged Joong's life for the cat (when she didn't). I do agree that it shows her character is messed up that she would not tell Joong what is going on, but the commenter was joking about the cat. Not going into a deep analysis of her signing an NDA.

I mean if the comment was "Can't hate sis for signing an NDA" and you were like: (insert tirade) that might make sense. But you're reading way too much into a joking comment.

She ultimately loved her cat more than Joong. That right there shows he meant little to her. Some people love their pets more than the people they're with. However, she did not sign his death warrant for her cat. As far as she was concerned she did not love him, but if she broke up with him she could save the life of her beloved pet. The fact that she cried to learn her cat would live, yet told him "I wish you the best. Bye" without even a tear shows how little he meant to her.
