Tbh, they attached to the past abit too much that's it's feel like both of them just got graduated and separated for 1 year or so. I understand ML's perspective. Some MCs in other manhwas and mangas usually have same perspective. For example, MC from High Pulse.
If you like the person so much that your world could collapse when you and that person broke up, it's better to reject or stop yourself from overly attached and stay in your bubble zone. Having world collapse could make ML turn overly possessive or be a rapist. ML basically avoid becoming the typical red flag ML.
This doesn't means I don't acknowledge MC's misery. His revenge aka saying I hate you stuff is justified but MC own revenge hurt himself via emotionally too. Dunno if it's worth for revenge or nah. I just wish to see ML cater to MC's needs and wants to make up MC's suffering. (⌒▽⌒)

Same, I hate them even more if the side couple is the 2nd ml that gets over his love in 2 chapters like nothing. Or worse if two characters that were in love with MC for a long time get together for reasons in a couple of chapters.
