The story are great. They never do any fck or sexual shts together. The only times you see both of them naked together when child MC reminiscing (future) flashback of ML struggling to tell the past relationship before he met adult MC.
So, it's just shounen ai.
Imo, the reason MC went to the past is due to antagonist. If they want to be together, they need to overcome this antagonist by changing his perspective of life.
