It’s not about taking sides. I believe she is trying to fix his relationship with his brother. He overreacted because of his past trauma. The way the chapter even ended he didn’t let her speak. A relationship is always about communication and caring for your partner. She can see that his strained relationship with his brother affects him in a negative way so she wants to help them fix their relationship. You can see that his older brother loves him a lot. However if ml insists that he doesn’t want anything to do with his brother I’m pretty sure fl will stop trying to fix it (it probably wont come to that though they’ll probably make up in the end) both the brothers & the couple
Yeah she just went about it very poorly. For starters she shouldn't have gone off alone with him. This would have been a lot more explainable if they were still in the apartment with everyone else. And then what she was saying was just complimentary towards the brother or "you're misunderstanding him" rather than. "Eveything he's saying right now is in direct contradiction to what he was saying before you got here. He's being weird and lying for some odd reason. I'm sorry I was trying to figure out why" or somethinggggggggggg that made sense. He was cutting her off because she was saying positive things about his brother and he basically already thought she was falling in love with him.
