the way the realisation dawned on him that he has nowhere to return to is so ☹☹ i totally get where he's coming from esp with his personality being blaming his self for everything, i can see that someone like him would rlly think going to his auntie would be him burdening her, there are a lot of times I've read something that does this but it pisses me off bcs they just sound stupid but for the way his character is built it makes sense and i like that

im already so attached to jay but i don't like a major chunk of this plot (the mc's lover died and now he's miserable blahblah and for sure will end up treating jay even shittier than he does rn) i seriously can't stand it, would have been better if owen is like someone from the enemy group that's on their side, or idk something else
