I'm trying to make a profound comment, and probably will later, but there's an aspect of this I can't stop fixating on; what happened to the personality that despised Doyoung? The first one to snap and consequently die. There's absolutely no indication of him surviving. I think it was done on purpose to show a person can change, though that change can not be done purposefully, as it is unhealthy and scarring and painful.
The part that hated Doyoung naturally died, and he was therefore not missed. But the part of Hyunjin, the cowardly one who could not trust those around him, who seeked protection because he was afraid, a greedy gluttonous bastard who put everyone at risk because he was scared, was cried for. He may have seemed awfully, but his tears and sacrifice proved him to be almost like a child seeking comfort from authority.
To kill part of yourself is an extremely painful and soul-crushing thing to do. this is longer than I intended though, so I'm cutting it here lol.
They may have similar concepts, but the stories themselves as well as the characters and their motivations are COMPLETELY different. Being in the same genre doesn't mean they're comparable. It's like comparing One Piece with Hunter X Hunter. Same genre, same concept of adventure, absolutely different plots. Saying you have a favourite is okay, but not here. Please have some consideration for how authors would feel seeing these comments.
