THERE ARE 47 FREE CHAPTERS (as for now). no need to login to open the free chapters, and I usually just using my cellphone to MTL the sentences (I used the browser version, not the app. Because I prefer kakaopage which has both the webtoon & the novel, the web version of kakaopage is accessible for me without using VPN). The webtoon is licensed in my country but I still read the raws & novel from kkp kr.
The only barrier is language, not access for official raw. The author makes a reasonable demand, she even dropped her project because of illegal translation (now she rebooted it and it will be published again and her team in daum worked hard to prepare the webtoon). I have a very limited knowledge of the language but it doesn't stop me to read
It will be better to send requests to official publishers to localize the webtoon than taking a risk to keep translating when the author asked us specifically not to. 2 biggest local platforms in my country literally compete to license famous titles so I think international platforms will at least hear our request.
And I kinda feel paranoid because the last time I checked their Twitter acc (both the novel author &illustrator), they just caught another illegal translator in IG.
Daum webtoon is pretty generous because usually their webtoons are free except for several newest episodes. KKP kr is stricter to their original release (we need 'free tickets and wait for days/hours, different pay tickets for 'rent' or 'permanent' access) but we don't have those limitations to read the free episodes for daum original releases.
