Hmm, no? Minhyuk is definitely in the wrong here. Commiting any sexual acts with a person who can't give clear verbal consent, due to intoxication or something else, is still rape...
But, as of this current chapter, I don't think Minhyuk is entirely and completely a "bad guy". His actions are wrong, definitely, but I think a lot of it has to do with... miscommunication and assumptions? And lack of knowledge?
From Minhyuk's perspective, he probably thinks that since the MC and the Boss aren't in a clearly established committed relationship, the MC must be "fair game" for any sexual advances. He's asked MC if he likes him and if he'd like to "take responsibility" by sleeping with him to some capacity....but the major issue is that he's done it while MC is drunk and probably doesn't understand what he's agreeing to.
All this is wrong, and is rape, and Minhyuk should be held accountable for his actions one way or another if he doesn't back the fvck off NOW; But the reason why I think he's not entirely bad is because he hasn't really done this out of malicious intent. For him, he probably doesn't completely get that this is not proper consent. And this has more to do with a lack of proper knowledge on consent and what it means under what circumstances.
Who knows though? I might be utterly wrong and Minhyuk might just be another guy the collective mob of readers needs to hunt down with pitchforks and axes.

I don't think I trust the guy anymore. Something about him strikes me as...off.
I do think he genuinely likes Violet, but that it's in a twisted way. Like he's a softer "yandere" type. I think he's manipulating things behind the scenes in a similar way to Shannon, and might even be helping Shannon to a degree, so that Shannon gets Mr Black Haired Dude, and he's able to get Violet for himself.
I like the cut puppy dog him now, but it feels fake. Like he only acts that way because Violet expects him to be that way, and gives him the best attention when he's like that. I think he's super sus.

Haha, yeah that sometimes happens~ I don't mind if he's that type of character; In fact, I usually like characters like that...But if he's really a soft yandere type, then I don't think it'd be healthy for Violet to be with him in the end. All I can hope for is that he somehow lives in the end (don't know what to expect with this, since this story doesn't seem like it'll take the tragedy route, but also isn't super predictable).

If he's a bit of a yandere, like I suspect, then he could have a twisted mentality where he thinks that the more isolated and hated she is by everyone else around her, the more she'll rely and depend on him.
He'll be the only person in her life, aside from her father, that truly "cares" for her so she'll have no choice but to love him. If this happens, then it a twisted validation that he's needed and wanted by her, and the only man who deserves to be by her side.
There's plenty of things he can be thinking right now, where he feels that his actions are valid. Like some sordid test where, if Shannon does end up with black haired guy, then it was only further proof that that guy didn't truly love Violet, since he was so "easily swayed by Shannon".
Aaron might think that even if Violet is hurt by everyone else, it's alright since she'll eventually acknowledge that Aaron is the only man for her who has never hurt her.
The thought patterns of these types of characters is really scary and messed up. It's scary.Σ( ̄□ ̄||)

For fvck's sake, leave Sehyun alone.
He was finally achieving happiness, and *allowing* himself to be happy and loved and love others back, and here you come to ruin it all. You need help and, if you can't get help for yourself, then at least do everyone a favour and stop dragging Sehyun down into the pits with you.
He's said his piece. He doesn't love you, doesn't want to, and never will; And the "love" you have for him is an extremely unhealthy kind for the both of you. Stalking, kidnapping him and raping him, again, will never work in your favour. Get professional psychiatric help. Leave Sehyun alone. Go your separate ways and hopefully be a better person for it. Fvck, you piss me off. He was just beginning to be happy! This better not set back his progress with Boris and fam! ╥﹏╥

Yes, you tell them! But in all honestly everything you said was true. Micheal is messed up in more ways than one, and that dirty bastard just won’t leave poor Sehyun alone. Just when you think everything will be fine and they’ll finally be happy, Micheal appears and ruins everything. I almost cried a few times because I just y’know, finally wanted Sehyun to find some inner peace. I hope this ends on a happy note and Sehyun will finally have the life he’s dreamed of. And Boris too! We can’t forget how much he’s gone through too, I hope that with them finding each other they’ll be able to heal each other and live happily. At this point they should just move states just to be far away from that hairy gorilla ass price of shit. (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸

Ugh, me too! I've felt like crying at so many points in this story, it's really great! I absolutely hate crying, but I'll accept it for this because it deserves all my feels. Even just the chapter with the two girls (Boris' sister and their friend...Lilah?) made me feel so emotional because what they said was so true. Sometimes scars don't heal, and you just gotta accept it, and hopefully someone accepts and loves you despite it.
AND SEHYUN'S FOUND THAT SOMEONE IN BORIS!!!! So don't you dare fvck it up for them Michael! I swear, I'm gonna lose my sh!t and cry for days if this ends in a tragedy. Not even joking about crying for days. I will, and I'll hate Michael for it forever. Idc if he's fictional!
I think there's 62 chapters in total (including the prologue and epilogue), so we're coming close to the end now. I'm so worried and anxious. I desperately hope Sehyun and fam get a happy ending. At this point, I barely care what happens to Michael. Get some help and move forward, or die in a ditch, idc anymore. I just need Sehyun's happiness. Please. I will beg, on my knees

José ...Oravanny....Who is dis? What happened to Hal? Lol
To the person translating, thank you for doing this, since it was something no one ever asked you to do and you never had to. I'm wondering why the small blurbs aren't being translated though? I mean, setting aside the birthday card, I know the blurbs aren't exactly essential to the plot (usually) but it would still be nice to understand what's being said anyways~
Still, thanks for doing your best in translating!

Seriously, tf??? Did I hate it? No, but I don't think I really liked it either. I just feel kind of confused...
The title is weird too. I imagined just...eating a mouthful of butter and gagged because that's disgusting. What's so great about butter that this kid will just obey, literally like a dog, for a butter flavored dog bone? I feel like a read a crack-fic treated seriously

Ao3 fic tags! That's *exactly* what I was thinking!!
I don't really mind open-ended stories, so long as they're done right. This just feels like the author got bored of writing and promptly ended it as soon as half the opportunity came up. It's rushed and awkward and unsatisfying, but acceptable anyways because the rest of this story was just so weird that it somehow fits. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Does anyone have anything similar to this in terms of atmosphere and/or plot? I really like things like this, but it's a little hard to find good quality. I'm grateful for any recommendations though. Art doesn't have to be stellar, but it's always a great bonus~
As a gift, I'll give you "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" which is new, though the novel version is complete. It has the exact same artist as Solo Leveling, but the authors are different. It kinda fits my criteria for what I'm looking for in terms of same atmosphere, and it's awesome. I'd recommend waiting until there's more chapters though, because once you start it's hard to stop. One of those binge worthy types.

I guess the atmosphere I'm looking for is "survival, game aspect, angst"? But I'll take anything you think is good~ ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Thank you! I'll take a look at your profile.
The Beginning After the End was one I'd started when it first came out, but I dropped it because I was worried it wouldn't live up to the novel. It seems that a lot of people are recommending it though, so I'll give it another go.
The others were on my "want to read" list, but I was also wary of starting them since they didn't look or sound that different from the generic type stories that are prominent on this site. Again though, a lot of people seem to be recommending the same things so I'll have to give them a try.
I haven't heard of:
Return to Player
The Live
So I'll definitely look at those. I agree with Ranker Who Lives A Second Time. I really enjoy reading that one, though it hasn't updated in a while, right?
Thank you to everyone who's commented so far! I really appreciate it~

To the person who made the tag "I have no fiking ideo why did i click on this but the art is good though"....I completely agree. I've probably never heard a more true statement. Seriously, every time a story like this pops up, I know it's gonna be absolutely just....horrible...And yet, I click anyways. Why? Why do I do this?

It's not as scary or suspenseful as I was hoping. The stories are nice but for, like, younger children or people who really can't handle horror but want to try reading something scary anyways. Personally, the scholastic books I'd read in elementary school were scarier (namely the ones by Alvin Schwartz).
I noticed that the third story wasn't original either (or maybe it is, but I've already seen it dozens of other places).
I might continue to read every now and then as a pastime, but I don't think I'll actively check back for updates.
Edit: Actually, thinking back to Alvin Schwartz short stories, these chapters would probably be on the same level as some of those less scary ones. If you're worried about actually reading this and being able to handle it or not, it's kind of the same level as what's below:
"Once, there was a dark dark Forest, and in the dark dark Forest,
There was a dark dark house, and in the dark dark house,
There was a dark dark room, and in the dark dark room,
There was a dark dark closet, and in that dark dark closet,
There was a dark dark box, and in that dark dark box,
THERE WAS A SPIDER! AHHHH!"
See? Not so scary. Give it a try. Maybe you'll like it~

Yeah, I also found this one confusing and had to re-read it more times than I care to admit. I kind of guessed that, like your boyfriend said:
The girl probably had an argument with her family, and left the house to get away from them for a while. She stumbled across an elf in a bottle and freed it, earning her one wish. Still angry, she childishly wished for her family to die, and the elf agreed but didn't say *when* her wish would be fulfilled. The next day, the girl woke up to find her family alive and thought she was lied to.
A week passed, and she eventually got over her anger (as you do in most cases, especially as a child), and forgot about her wish to the elf. Then the elf popped back up, killed her family, then asked the girl if she was happy. The girl, realizing her mistake wanted to take back her wish but...
Honestly, the first one just lacks a lot of detail, so it's hard to figure out immediately. I kind of like those stories, but only if they're done right. Giving the bare bones of a story, and then coming to your own conclusions can be fun.
That aside, the fourth story is kinda good. I can see it being expanded on, and becoming a reaaally good novel or filmヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Actually, her family was alive after she made the wish because they weren't her biological family. Meaning she's adopted and when she found out, she wanted to take her wish back. Not sure why she wants to take the wish back though, maybe she's guilty she killed the wrong people I guess. I've heard a similar story before, I think it's a popular Asian children's horror story.
I mean, if you can find more uses for the bean sprouts to make more dishes, *and* they're cheaper to begin with, it's a no brainier. Bean Sprouts ftw! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
