It was the OG FL's father who adopted the boy for his magical talent so our girl goes around searching all the orphanages for a red-eyed boy because she knows from the novel that red eyes = immense magical power. She renames him differently from the FL's father to mean hope or something like that but plot twist, she apparently got the wrong kid. He's a different one. Our little puppy Ray wasn't even mentioned in the original novel. ML thinks like a yandere but is too whipped to do anything about it (ノ≧∇≦)ノ just google it tons of fluff!
