ehh so you're saying as a heterosexual women she shouldn't get off to gay porn/yaoi/yuri? why? it's fantasy, it's not like she is going to some actual person, DEMANDING he make out with another guy while she munches popcorn. I get where you're coming from, but as long as she keeps her kinks/fetish to her bedroom/playroom/head/online community for this exact intent, I fail to see a marginalisation of the LGBTQ community.

There is nothing wrong with that. I never said there was anything wrong with that. I read BL and Yuri myself. But what she’s doing is a form of fetishization. If someone apart of the LGBT community were to do the same thing as her, saying “I want this character to be straight!” That would still be fetishizing straight people. She is fetishizing a sexuality. Why would you fetishize a sexuality? That’s disgusting.

It would be different if she were talking about the sex play she would like to see. But she is talking about sexuality, wtf. Imagine if the character was gay and she was saying “I want this character to be straight” that’s so weird.

Shaming people for their private fetishes when it doesn’t hurt anyone (exceptions being pedophilia because that’s vastly different) is what’s weird. She’s not demanding anything of anyone. And if she wants that sort of sex play then wouldn’t it be weird if they weren’t gay? If you want two dudes to do it and you like that kind of play then I’m sorry...but the term gay or homosexual is the correct way to voice that interest.

I think in your anger, while somewhat righteous, you are mixing up things and are a bit over-eager to make a mountain out of a molehill.
first, to fetishise: "to be excessively or irrationally devoted to (an object, activity, etc)"
to objectify: "to present as an object, especially of sight, touch, or other physical sense; make objective; externalise."

again, she is not stomping up to the guy or even to the author of this comic and demands them to be gay. she is NOT having a big campaign here, demanding the author to make the character gay, or even putting him being gay in a FOR HER arousing context, so saying she is "fetishising" is an overreach. Plus, context matters - this is not only a comic PURELY dealing with sex (and thus SEXUALITY), this IS a fan community. Lots of ppl here express desires over certain characters here. I mean, have you seen doujinshins?!??!? A big favourite there are Eren and Levi, constantly portrayed as gay, although I haven't seen any concrete evidence from the author confirming this, but ppl love it here.
Besides, even if you spin it backwards as you did - that happens LOADS of times actually. Matt Boehmer for example. I cannot count how many times, women have sighed over this man and how him being gay is "unfortunate". As long as that stays as such (meaning purely on the down low), I fail to see the harm and so far, I haven't heard him complaining about it either.
Now on the other hand, gay women HAVE that problem - since female on female action is a pretty prevalent trope in porn, thus men - in PUBLIC - cheer and get off and thus there you would be absolutely correct, chastising them.

There is no justification for fetishizing a sexuality. It’s creepy, gross, and dehumanizing. Same-gender attracted people do not enjoy being the object of your fetishes. ehhh, I DID say it happens loads of times, and even gave a prominent example for a GAY guy, so I NEVER said that it is JUST lesbians. Aggressively fan-girling over someone's sexuality is never okay, so don put that on me! I just mentioned, that gay women have that prominent addition with the porn, which tends to bring up more aggressive reactions than with guys. Bars for example, two guys snog - you might get an "aww" reaction or even some dickheads that complain, that's it. Two girls? Uhh boy... catcalls, guys buying drinks, demands for repeats, guys trying to chat them up purely for sex, a whole show. Now, obviously, there is more to it, but let's stick to our case here.

If you are AWARE that someone is fetishising YOU and yours, you would be absolutely correct and it's totally your right to protest. In this case here tho, it's fiction and fantasy. you are off the mark.

Exactly this is fictional. Since she's not asking a real life human being to be a different sexuality, it's not a big deal. It's a fictional story and some people have preferences on what they like to read. It's also pointless to fight someone about their opinions and preferences. You can't just demonize people for expressing their opinions.
