Can you tell which chapter of the novel corresponds with the latest update

It's 194/195 but the novel have given some information before this that are not in the comic so I would recommend reading the earlier chapters

I hear ya.

I feel like I'm way more critical about art when it comes to showbiz type webcomics. The whole point is the visuals and being able to depict expressions and emotions in a way that's impactful. But so many of them barely try (which is so weird.) I find it hard to suspend my belief enough to be immersed in the story.

Like, they're telling me this scene MC just did was an award-winning moment, but I swear if they 1:1 that in a drama irl, I'd just crack up laughing.

I don't have that problem with this comic as the MC and story thus far has been really enjoyable.

Though, I can't say the same like, for example, Monstrous Actor. I read the novel and loved it, but man, the art for the adaptation does not hold up at all. I find myself constantly cringing. Which sucks, because the OG Author had some interesting descriptions, and that could have been a very visually entertaining story if done right.

Also don't apologise, I agree wirh you even if my own biggest problem is his looks, but you are right. It is so important for this style of comic to have an good artist who can draw them act because it is the whole point is the emotions and visuals

Yeah, I side-tracked a bit LOL. But I was agreeing with the looks part. It's the one thing idol-comics get so right. They tend to draw their idols so pretty and handsome that I totally believe the narrative when it says that the MC is like the group visual or whatever else.

It's a great read. I just recommend reading it in chunks, as it can feel a bit repetitive if you binge it all in one go.

I agree so much with this... it pisses me off cuz most of time they don't even look as good as expected. Mainly... why do they look uglier than rofan side characters? I'm not even talking about how they use it being modern setting to skimp on drawing the clothes more detailed (compared with the elaborate clothes of rofan) but even the faces and body proportions... they draw it super generic and try to pass it as good looking... like sure, there's normal looking actors... but if you tell me they are hansome I expect them to be handsome... not normal.. so yeah.. I agree and it's a valid rant... and it happens to a LOT od showbiz comics...
About monstrous actor... I have that same complaint. Like, mc is good looking enough... but... only when he is serious and not acting... that druggie role was such a let down cuz in the novel he is depicted as super charismatic... and in the comic... even the tattoos they gave him look like children's doodle... I do appreciate the use of memes... but they downgrade the art too much for the comedy kicks... and to me it would be funnier if the overall art was super well made and on the comedic scenes (and only on them) it gor weird and wonky... the contrast would make it even funnier. The art doesn't match the seriousness and monstruosness of mc's acting...

Yes!!! Especially about the clothes. Using Monstrous Actor as an example because geez the adaptation really did disappoint me-- the frustration I felt when I got to the panels where MC meets with the director of the detective movie for the first time. The novel described the MC as wearing a face mask and hat. Like. Is that really so hard to draw? The webcomic scene even had the audacity to imply that the MC was disguised in some way while only illustrating him as shadowed silhouette with a light backdrop. Just. How lazy can you get.

And I am so happy you brought up the Drug Addict role because that was the arc that left me truly resigned that it was not gonna get any better from there. I was looking forward to how that character would be depicted specifically. In universe, it was a role he played that left such a huge impact its first few seconds on screen that people literally went back to the theaters over and over just to rewatch that moment. And what we got in the adaptation was *waves hands tiredly* that.

Omg that's so true... ik this is turning into a massacre of another comic but... seriously the indignation of that sorry excuse of an character is... infuriating... it should be a sexy and charismatic villain being drove into madness over drgs... what we got was... a vulgar yakuza with ugly tattos and crazy eyes... even his gruesome ending in the novel felt kinda emotional... like they still had some respect for him even while offing him... and we got... we didn't... they skipped the violence of it... I'll still read it cuz um curious about the chars that didn't appear yet... but the disappointment is big... it makes me worried about the other characters he'll play... cuz none of them are... goody goody... and I think the order of the projects on the comic messed that up... cuz id drowned the shock of him pulling out the romance male lead act so well... I'll probably just read the novel again.. and look for the novel of this one too...
But I really wish the authors stopped using modern setting to justify subpar art... it's sad... I mean... even the modern dungeon settings have better looking mc's and clothes than the showbiz ones? It doesn't make sense...

But like, I totally agree with everything you've said. I consider that role to be one of his defining ones, and the author made sure to emphasize to the very end that the character still carried a sense of dignity. The artist, however, drew him like a total stereotype.

I feel like a quick and easy flag for subpar showbiz art is- how often do the hairstyles change and is the famous MC always wearing a tracksuit or a plain tee with a dress shirt thrown over.

Yeah... honestly I'm tired of how sloppy showbiz comics in general are... I can excuse this mc cuz he looks relatively good and I think they are trying to focus more on how he transforms from one character to another, almost being unrecognizable despite being good looking.
However that's no excuse for how lackluster and lacking of details other things are. It baffles me how plain the clothes are being drawn when even in other modern settings the clothes look good. "The 100th Regression of the Max-Level Player" and "Housekeeper in a Dungeon" are examples of modern setting with good art... to the point I with those author/illustrators would make showbiz comics instead... honestly... is not that the art is bad, even to I'm criticizing it... they just... don't fit the theme well...
And yes... plain tee+dress shirt, tracksuit and hoodies are way overused... anothe red flag for me is when they do change the hair... and you take a time to identify who is the mc in a group of people... in the 10 first chapters is ok but after 30 or so? That's bad news... it's like then you start stanning a kpop group irl... at first is on to confuse them... but after 6 months... if you can't tell who is who? That's a bad thing... XD

For now I still have hopes for this one... that he is moderately handsome but transforms a lot in different roles... so I'll keep reading it...

So I am working my way through the novel (of both) and in MG the thing I notice is that they write that he goes to the salon every day to get hair and makeup done, but in the novel he looks the same every day and he looks like he just left home. He rarely looks like he has been styled and I think that goes for a lot of the showbiz comics.
(Also I keep being annoyed that they don't mention that he most likely is working out 4 days a week and he has a person controlling his diet. Goes for all of the comics. It takes so many people to make one celebrity)

In MG they also point out that he is doing a lot of advertising and stuff and he got a stylist so he should be popping off even in a casual outfit, even more so in a showbiz comiv where mc is this super actor/celeb who everyone wanna see, they would have people take their picture every time they walk outside and let's be honest people would rip a celeb (even more so in a country like korea) who shows up dressed in a t-shirt snd hoodie like a collage student back from break

Right??? At this point he should be looking 100% styled and keeping his composure... which would contrast massively with how he is when he is home alone... I mean... even when they are in jeans and hoodie most celebrities (especially the kr ones) style it in some way so they look good and not like... a college student fighting his graduating papers... it's the same as them using those triped slippers in public and more formal/upscale settings to show mc is "laid back and chill" like no... he's senseless and disrespectful... I'm nor saying actos idol and singers need to be perfect 24/7... but they need to me a bit conscious of it at least right? Even normal people are... so yeah... even if they mess the timeline in the comic mc shouldn't be going around underdressed like this...

There are only one comic where I accept the tracksuit and slippers and it's "an investor who can see the future" and its only because its the side character and it makes sense for him plus it is being called out that he is dressed sloppy (but even he gets in a suit more then once because where they are going)
But that is about people making money, no one expect them to be stylish. This genre is about idols.
For God's make in the novel they even point out that they get their hair and makeup done for the airport because they know there are going to be fans and people taking photos.

Also. If you are from Korea you have no reason to not know how idols dress. Of all places Korea is so obsessed with how their idols look so the artist should know that (or not. I'm not from Korea but the amount of kpop and kdramas and stuff about their idols and actors I as a person who does not care have seen, how can a person who should do research for their work not know)

Thank you for this comment honestly kinda disappointed on the manhwa of the monstrous actor Kang woojin looks kinda disappointed me and also don't get me wrong I love the novel but the sudden romance kinda throw me off like nobody even likes the real Kang woojin except his friends lmao
