I could never date someone who thinks that signs of affection are inappropriate. My bf, before we start dating, sleep with me in the same bed a lot and we didnt have sex (he didnt even try cause we TALK first, like decent humans). It was just for the hugs and care to be loved <3 so you can get intimacy without sex.
I have mixed feelings about this. like you said when your in a relationship with someone more physically signs of affections are to be expected as a way of expressing affection, but I dont think you lose your rights a separate individual with with you own agency to turn down a kiss or sex if you dont want it. if the person walks up and pulls you closer, but you want your space I think they should be allowed turn down cuddling. many people treat GF/BF like labels as ownership thats entitles them to touch you whenever THEY want and I feel like its wrong to take it for granted and treat someone like property.
respect is important is the point I'm making, your dating this person and they are your significant equal so saying things like "shes mine" or "he's mine" acting entitled to that persons anatomy always seemed awfully degrading way to be treated rather then endearing.
