Bro Andy is an athlete who played hockey in Canada, the dude can take a hit it's not a difference in power/ability, it's a height difference. Negating the sex tape and cheating, he's stalked, harassed, emotionally manipulated and attacked the ML and the MC. How can you defend someone who has been emotionally, mentally, and physically violent this entire time because he's short and considered 'cute'? Had it been something that could have been solved by calling the police, the ML would have done that several chapters ago. Your thought process is problematic, Andy attacked 1st, and the ML defended himself and the MC. You can't claim that they were wrong to respond with violence because they are 'bigger' when it was the smaller one who initiated the physical conflict. Are bigger people just supposed to take the hit and be abused? He gave him one hit and then immediately left the situation, there was no excessive violence that took place. I highly suggest you watch the documentary Killer Sally or look into Terry Crews SA case, being physically bigger doesn't mean they aren't the victim of violence.

There's a difference between violence that's uncalled for/unwarranted and violence that's the result of peaceful resolutions having failed/not listened to. For many years I shared the same opinion that all violence was bad, but that's unfortunately a very hypocritical idea pushed onto people by those in power.

The blanket statement that "all violence is bad" is a form of propaganda perpetuated by those in power to maintain control, especially when historically violence has been instrumental in securing rights for marginalized groups. The use of violence is the reason why people outside of the demographic of white, straight, rich men have rights. I advise you to take this chance to read up on things such as the Haitian Revolution, Stonewall riot, Suffragette bombing and arson campaign, Coal miner riots, etc as they will give you a broader idea of how violence isn't inherently a bad thing and can lead to a safer society overall.

While I agree, that violence should never be the first option, and if there is a way to resolve a conflict with words, it should be done. However, violence that follows the exhaustion of all other options should not be condemned (it's the option of desperation).

In this situation, the ML has consistently acted with maturity, respect, and restraint, even in the face of provocation and harm caused by another person (Andy). Despite being wronged by Andy (cheated on, Andy's actions resulted in ML's career-ending injury, and the nonconsensual sex tape** (**he doesn't currently know about but it doesn't negate the fact that Andy has hurt him in many ways), the ML has chosen to handle the situation peacefully (harboured no resent or blame), walking away from conflict (left the country), giving warnings (politely corrected/warned Andy despite him harassing the ML, those around him and a minor), and even ensuring Andy's safety at times (ensured Andy got home safely, despite him passing out drunk in front of his house).

However, despite the ML's efforts to resolve the situation peacefully and maintain a respectful distance, Andy continues to behave violently and with ill intent, disregarding the ML's boundaries and good intentions. Physical violence even occurs when he realizes things will not go his way.

In this scenario, it's clear that the ML has exhausted all reasonable avenues for peaceful resolution and is being pushed to defend themselves or take further action due to Andy's persistent aggression and disregard for boundaries. It is here, that the distinction I previously made between violence that is uncalled for and violence that arises as a last resort becomes relevant.
