Fir example here everyone uses names but og was supposed to be shahyuk, shahyung, sajae etc...
I find it really weird when everyone calls baek chun by his name... Others are still manageable and doesn't feel out of place cz everyone's kinda similar in age... But... (=｀ェ´=)
Another example is trash of the count's family... Where choi Han is supposed to call Cale— Cale-nim, but Asura made it so that choi Han calls him Sir Cale...
The translation is not wrong or anything but just feels foreign
I kinda get that, in some ways I do love it when a series' translation gives more nod to the og culture by leaving the honourifics (esp with Korean hyung/oppa/noona/unnie, that doesn't work well directly translated) and y'know, educating people a bit more on that culture through that, but on the other hand I also appreciate it when they do try to translate it and keep it in the translated language.
Here though, I assume the shahyuk/shahyung/sajae you mentioned mean senior brother/sister? If so, I feel like they definitely could've translated them like so.
Ig the thing is that for newer readers it's less confusing to not use those words and saves time from the translators to have an explanation page? Idk what the official English translation on webtoom has done with the series tho as I've only kept up with the fan translations :V
(I'm just saying this as someone who read Mo Dao Zu Shi for the first time ever earlier this year - it took me reading the comic and watching the drama to understand the terms used better, despite general cultivation/martial arts genre not being new to me).

So in Mr. Queen, the king was reading 18+ books but it was only an upfront to cover up the fact he was reading military tactics book. He was somewhat of a “puppet king” so the people around him didn’t really see him as a king. He also had a concubine, but that concubine saw him as a man and was in love with him.
I’ll say just watch Mr. Queen and see if it’s what you’re talking about. If it’s not, I still think the drama would be of interest to you.
