Look, after re-reading martial peak for the second time i came to know that a lot of people are dissatisfied because Yang Yan didn't end up being Yank Kai's woman later, when Yank Kai was so sad about her leaving that he didn't even spend time with Xia Nia Chang and Su Yan after Yang Yan's departure.

But did you guys forget there is a lot more than romance between a man and a woman. And the fact that Yank Kai and Yang Yan went to lot of ups and downs together for more than a decade so ofcourse he's sad when she left because he doesn't know when he can meet her again, also the fact that he'll meet the starry sky great emperor and the Yang Yan he spent time with is forever lost.

Just because they had strong bonds doesn't mean it has to evolve as romance between them.
Personally I like that she didn't end up in the harem.

But why is Duke still alive

This is one of the very few story where mc changes their love interest bcz the 1st love interest is toxic.

Generally what happens is toxic lover becomes aware he was a red flag and after some drama he becomes green flag and mc forgives every thing he had done. And it becomes a happy lovey dovey end.

But not here he (mc) ends with someone else who's been a green flag since the beginning and not with the toxic 1st lover even though he changed (because, just because you change it doesn't undone the truma and everything). So I really love the mc because of his choices.

I'm sick and tired of one person forgiving the others toxic ass when they genuinely apologize and ends up being in a relationship. Like sometimes I understand that, that is best for them but not always.
