The thing is... fated people in this manga are not connected from birth - the connection through the red string always happens at some point in their lives. Respectively after they had gained various experience, developed personality, characteristics, traits... and then they even have to personally meet the "fated" person for the string to connect. To be honest, I do not consider this fate at all. It is more like a guideline that you could possibly lead a happy life with the person because you are compatible. However, as the string can connect at some point in their lives, I believe it can also disconnect. People change and can become distant.
Do you remember what Kaoru himself said in the first red string series with the other couple? "There are people who never even come across their destined partners for the rest of their lives." - well then, how is that destiny?
And the most important thing he said: "The string itself does not have the power to compel people. It can only lead and draw you to your fated person."
I believe the final decision always lies on the person. Because not being able to chose what you want is the saddest fate of all.

I liked your analysis of the concept. I have a feeling that they will fight about it later on and will argue about why Kaoru didn't cut the red string even though he promised to in the beginning. They'll probably argue about breaking up but we like happy ending so they'll probably be together at the end. (⌒▽⌒)

It is not a long ago when I commented here that Ed has a personality that is really appealing to me, he is like the perfect guy (calm, thinks before acts however still has moments that surprise you when he just follows his instincts, he is responsible and gentle and understanding but also sharp and firm when needed, looks good and likes cats). And after reading the comments below about what seems to happen in the novel I am like UUUUH?
Like what the fuck. That plot does not suit the characters AT ALL. The only one true to his s1 self is probably just Chang lol. But what the hell, McQueen that does not care what is happening to Ed? Ed selling his body even after he paid his debt and has a lover? Seriously like what the hell, this is more out of character than GoT season 8.

I was really hyped to see the deal between these two and then... All I received was disappointment. Somehow I thought the sex between H and T would be more erotic, with a huge amount of tension and excitement. Like there would be fireworks and stuff... And then it just didn't happen. It felt like a one night stand with a stranger, it was completely plain. Now I finally know that I prefer J > T that is just something else - H and J have IT. And I also think J really likes H but he doesn' want to confess because he knows H is in complete denial.
I hate to insult you, but you must be naive and young to think that fireworks happen after you have sex with someone. 95% of the time, it doesn't. Just having causal sex doesn't link you to someone, like Breezy stated, it occurs after you get to know someone and realize you like them.
I meant it more like that before I could feel the tension between them and now it somehow disappeared. It was like when you are looking to something for a long time and when it happens it is not that great after all. I liked the games between them about the porn shooting etc. - it was thrilling. Idk how to describe it, I guess it is just a personal feeling that made me realize I prefer J over T.
Taku's "I like you" just finished it off completely - but even before that I just stopped feeling it.
However it is just my opinion and I like that I have no idea how this could end, the element of unpredictability is still there.

Earlier in the story, it was briefly mentioned that Seungho's family and its status is not as strong as it used to be, that it is slowly fading (I hope I remember it correctly lol) - it would be amazing if something happened that would cause Seungho to lose his status & position & wealth etc. and become a poor casual with the same status as Nakyum or even lower than him. Maybe the hurt and angry ex sex partner together with learned sir could somehow make him lose his position? And maybe they could use Nakyum to do so - something like spread a rumor that Seungho slept with Nakyum, a low casual painter and that he wanted to make the low painter famous and give him title etc. :O That would discredit both our poor painter and Seungho. They would both go through hard times and form some kind of convenient partnership to gain their position and honour back. During this time of convenient cooperation Seungho would realize that Nakyum is the only one that would treat him the same way regardless of his title and position and therefore he would start to treat Nakyum kindly and would do anything to protect and help him. Nakyum would discover a kind side of Seungho's personality - that would make them grow closer - which I think is the only way how Nakyum could fall in love with Seungho after all that had happened until now.

Seungho will confirm for himself that kind and caring people exist, after which his love for Nakyum will become even stronger. as for Nakyum, through learning more about Seungho and realizing how different of a person he is from the rumored "hell-raiser notorious for his insatiable lust", he'll grow to like him. it's a pity that chapters are coming out slowly, I wanna see their bond progress so much T_T
