I almost gave this up due to stupidly reading the comments before actually catching up, as I usually prefer to read a few weeks/a month worth at a time. As a survivor, all the rape comments put me off. I’m glad I didn’t, I really love this story! And of course from our modern world perspective it’s cut and dry put off for sure. But as someone with an overactive imagination I always ask my self, is it plausible? If murium existed, if powers existed like these, could this be a realistic circumstance within the parameters of the world etc. and I’d have to say yea, and for weird as it is to us, it was handled pretty well. I read in comments that per the novel, he does eventually have several “wives” idk but that also is in line with this world. Sad but true.

I've read the novel, he does not take in several wives whoever wrote that he has a harem is merely speculating or just wanted to sully CYW's name even more. He stayed loyal to Munku and honestly just ever loved her. Hes too.....psychopathic towards other people that only Munku is special to him. And i love your views cuz i completely agree. The world is set in ancient civilization, mythical murim to add. I always find people who adamantly impose modern world values into these type of stories with such settings as ridiculous. Sure you have a moral integrity to uphold but SURELY you should've known the context of the story? Sighing
I know many hate harems, or how lots of women being attracted/ in “love” with MC. But again within the parameters of this world and many others that’s a VERY realistic take on it. In a world ruled solely by strength, the strongest will naturally attract many suitors. A partner that can protect you and your children etc is the bare minimum. Not discounting that women as well as men can be that strong!
The harem is not the problem in this manga. If you read the multitude of comments before your own, you will find that the issue is the rape of an unconscious woman! The ridiculousness of adding it out of nowhere! For no reason!
I gave my thoughts on that in comment above this one… ridiculous in our time and world, but that time ina ‘magical’ world not so much.
