A lot of comments throw the “idc” but this story is much more than just your average BL if that is why y’all are getting then reread it again.
Jinx is NOT a conventional romance, and categorizing it simply as Boys’ Love (BL) misses the deeper thematic layers. Jinx is Psychological Drama / Tragic Slice-of-Life with an unconventional twist approach in romance.
Read it through the lens of trauma, dependency mistaken for connection, economic desperation, and emotional repression. Set in a hypermasculine, exploitative world, it tells the story of two men who are products of their pain. One raised with abuse and one raise with love however both in an economical desperate situation. So you can see how both characters have been affected by the same situation but in different environments in turn becoming the product they are now.
This whole hate reminds me of how Killing Stalking was treated when it was never a romantic story.

Right. Saying that this is in any shape or form comparable to killing stalking is nonsensical. Killing Stalking is indeed a psychological thriller, Jinx is a contemporary romance with a toxic male lead. I’m not exactly complaining since I am willingly reading it, but saying that this is supposed to be treated as some sort of study on the human condition is crazy. It *is* written as a romance. A toxic one sure, but the author was in no shape or form making something it’s not. It is, frankly, simply following the recipe for every typical BL out there.
When did I say that is Jinx the story is comparable to Killing Stalking? Maybe my wording was incorrect but what I meant in my comment:

Is that the “hate” going on to Jinx reminds me on how K.S. Was disliked and treated. (Which any one has a right to dislike but I like to bring my opinion out when I feel it’s not being read fairly)
I will also correct that I’m not saying it doesn’t follow with typical BL routes but it’s not just written as a “romance”. I’m talking about the under layers to the story. Do I think the authors wanted to start that way? Tbh no I think she slowly grew into it and wanted to add more layers and dynamics into it.
And I don’t agree that it’s a “contemporary romance” as per now. I do agree that it’s heading that way but as in now it’s not it. Its foundation is empowered imbalance and exploitative.

I do however still think that even comparing the hate that KS was getting to Jinx’s still wouldn’t make sense. KS was negatively received by some because they treated it as a romance when it was a horror story. The criticism towards Jinx on the other hand is very valid, because it is a romance romanticizing extremely unhealthy and toxic behavior. And yes ofc it has deeper layers, otherwise we’d have no plot, but the question is it it’s well done or not. And unfortunately until now, it’s been just poor execution after the other.

You know what you are right the hate hasn’t gotten there. But it reminds me of those events. I wasn’t a big fan of K.S. and dropped it halfway but the bullying and hate the author got was so unfair. So I’m hoping Jinx author doesn’t get to that point.
Also definitely agree that the author was not planning for this type of story. In all honestly am I a fan yes. Would I call myself a super fan no. I purchase it and would love for it to be printed. However I did always get the air this was going to be just like her other story. I’m just hoping this one get a better ending and actually “healing”.

I like so far what the plot is showing.
Seems like ML was probably not aware with his first partner and with what happened partner off themselves (or so it appears). Which has him haunted with guilt which may be the reason why he is the way he is now.
I’m interested in knowing where this will be headed.
I have a big tolerance for dumb MC but for some reason he just pissed me off…like yeah go ahead and move in with a dude that was on heat.

At this point the story is a bit confusing but in a way that seems the author wants us to be.
However I have to say it..idk why but the arts seems to become wonkier and uglier over time. I love the art of the other story so I was so excited for this one. But idk if they are forcing them to be faster or what but I have noticed over the chapters the art has become more “square” idk if that makes sense.
