Hmm, it was probably her principle of not breaking a promise that had fueled her. It’s like a single-minded goal and she just never thought deeply about it. Another was probably she was brainwashed by Johannes or if not brainwashed then, trained by Johannes to be the family’s shield until Jeremy can take over.
She was young after all and with little to no ounce of rebellion in her bones, it was “easy” in a way to dictate what she would and should do next.
I can't help but feel sad for the empress seeing as she truly treasures the childhood memories she had with the emperor.. （/TДT)/
