I just checked and the events in this latest chp happened in chp 32 of the main story.
oh sorry, I forgot there were two separate occasions of this happening. but to answer your question, no they werent hooking up before hyeok and inseo got together (or at least, before they also got involved as sex buddies as well). my guess is that the side story coincides with the main plot but there are certain events that instigate others as we’ve seen
I thought this was going to be a nice story, but alas, I should have paid attention to the rating and the comments before i wasted my time reading to chp 14.

For as much as I love and adore No Love Zone, I absolutely HATE Stay. I had actually blocked it's existence out of my mind, but now that I've remembered I feel like this story may be going in that direction. So I think I need to step away from this unless things get better for Yeomin.
For the record, being up front for Taeseo, a much older man & confirmed player, would have been him saying all of that garbage, as soon as he realized Yeomin had ZERO romantic, sexual or dating experience and before he fucked him, not waiting to be asked after Yeomin got attached to the first person he'd been intimate with & the first person to show him a drop of basic human decency.
I respect his honesty, but he doesn't deserve an award for doing the bare minimum of answering a question truthfully.
Let's bfr Taeseo is no dummy, he can see exactly what type of person Yeomin is and he fully knows his situation, so I don't care what he said to him, he's 100% taking advantage of Yeomin because he knows he can.

It will probably be awhile because she's going to do another project first, but Chada did say that she'd eventually be adapting the side story novels as well. (and hopefully also the AU novel, she didn't say this part specifically, it's just my hope)
I can now breathe again after having this information because as wonderful as the MS of DTR is it really, really gets good AFTER the main story.
