this is the most cliché, recycled, unoriginal, bullshit peice of fiction ive ever read. the best way to read this is with your eyes closed. but if u want to read something mindlessly this is perfect for you, not for those who care even a bit about what they're reading. because if you did you would drop this 20 chapters in

Yeah i do, personally i think the whole main cast are green flags, so i wont disappointed by any of the ships
this manhwa is genuinely so fucking scary. At first I thought it was because I was reading out at 4 am. I actually had to stop because I felt like there was someone else in the room with me. But then I decided to finish it in the morning and i still got spooked. Im the type of person who loves horror and i dont get scared that easily. Maybe its because i didnt expect this manhwa to talk about black magic ( which is something i truly believe in)
Im gonna glaze this because i NEVER get scared of horror in any form of media except movies (and that's bc of the sound factor) the fact that this story managed to scare me without the element of sound just shows how well written it is.
Also SPOILER: ik who the male lead is and i hate the fact its not the blondie

This is for those who want an honest review.
At the beginning, it was a cliché, and the art was okay at most. But I knew things would change once I saw the mc ACCTUALLY start breaking things down and planning. It feels realistic, and also shows her intelligence and the author's intelligence. This story still has cliché tropes, but because of the way its written its extremely enjoyable. I would recommend. The character dynamics are the most enjoyable. I cant be the only one who like the eldest son of the duke and his wife's dynamic right?
Also the art gets significantly better. It's only around 40 chapters now, so if the story continues to grow like this I'm sure it would be an excellent story.
I feel like not many people are into political manhwas. Its rare to find a good historical one let alone one that is set in the modern day.
This one in particular is set in a fantasy historical time period. The semi structured politics focusing heavily on the element of retribution is not appealing to everyone. Therefore if you came here for romance, i suggest you go back because this is another boring political story.

Now that those who are uninterested are gone. Let me tell you why i think this manhwa has the potential to be a true 10/10.
What readers look for are 4 things. Good plot, narration, characters and art.
I would say these are the strong points for this manhwa. The art is so pleasant and fits this story really well. The main characters and side characters are all important, i especially love the fact that the villains are actually smart. There are no easy wins which i love, so its satisfying to see the mcs overcome the challenges.
But then there are also characters which are in the gray section. Which i personally think is an essential for any well written story. Their actions may be bad but are they like that inherently? Its up to us to decide, kinda like life where morals are subjective.
Some may call the mcs bland but i would say they are simply mature. Its quite idealistic to hope for a cheerful character after the mc [(spoiler**) just had a miscarriage, got murdered by her husband and father, and is now living a life for revenge.] On top of that she is genuinely so smart, i appreciate the fact that she isn’t your typical Mary Sue, and that she actually struggles and fails at times against the enemy. AND THE ML??? I love his character so much. His story is the one that appeals the most to me. At some scenes i get goosebumps because of how incredible the narration was. Which brings me to my final point.
This story is at the top of its game when it comes to
Story telling. The language, the use of panels. The author does it brilliantly. Some parts even make me feel patriotic. [(Spoiler****) when lucas was kneeling in front of the palace and the townspeople all came up to support him against the emperor. I felt like i was one of the workers myself. That was truly one of my favourite scenes in this entire manhwa.]
The overall premise is nothing new but it will make you invested at times. This is one of the storys where it starts with a basic idea and it becomes amazing all because of execution.
I appreciate the work of the translators because without them, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the story as much.
Unfortunately this story is on hiatus and we are yet to read the last arc. I have high hopes and will really hate it if they rush the ending to this story. I can imagine a few different ways they may end it, but im happy with any way as long as the execution is on point.
I think if this story continues to be narrated in this level, it has the ultimate potential to be a 10/10.
We will just have to wait and see.
