I mean i guess from the cover it was always meant to be.... But I suppose they built up too complex of an antagonist and too many interweaving relationships between characters to slope down smoothly through the plot? Iunno, a bit of a downer. The beginning half I still like though with how he protected them and helped with their individual issues, the rest im kinda eh
