It's AU, but it doesn't mean that Kwak Hajun's Observation Diary is the original story :) Both creators did it at the same time, it's an AU for both characters ;)

And notice... Hajun sucks at studying but got into a prestigious university? :) What makes a happy ending is how you see it :)

Kwak Ha-jun's Observation Diary was released at the same time as Die Love, we can consider each stories as an alternate universe for both characters, as the creators said. They're friends!

...we're gonna see a lot of whining here So far, with how episode 88 went, Taekyung has no hidden motivation/plan for going back to Heeseo. Imo, that's thinking too far and out of storyline. Tae-kyung's own lines in episode 88 were 'Still, I'm glad. This time, I can hug you.', thinking about his regrets when they parted 8 years ago.

So please, if you're already hating what's happening, do yourself a favor, don't stress out and just forget about this manhwa. Live a life free of hate (⌒▽⌒)

What people don't understand is how much Taekyung regretted his decision back then. At the back of his mind, he's always known that his adoptive mother was the one who did it, but he investigated and investigated until he can no longer fool himself that it wasn't her, then asked her to turn herself in. He stood firm in front of her that he'll stay beside Heeseo and be his support no matter what, but faced with the responsibility, the heaviness of the situation and probably the idea of losing his "family" too, he crumbled and chose to chase Heeseo away. I love the last 2 episodes of season 1 no matter what everyone says!

I honestly can't blame Taekyung, but what if he stood by Heeseo's side 8 years ago and supported him as he originally planned?

What if Heeseo hadn't st@bbed Taekyung then?

If y'all focus on the negativity, you won't understand the depth of the story and characters.

I appreciate you comprehending this media instead of immediately pointing blame at the characters, I feel nervous to leave any comments on this manwha because everyone jumps immediately to conclusion ( ̄へ ̄)

The story, the characters and the creator deserve so much more than the hate ╥﹏╥ I know it's not perfect, but it's not stupid and tr@sh as others deemed it, they just don't understand the whole point and just focus on one thing ( ̄へ ̄)

    None May 26, 2025 3:19 am

Thank u for this. I'm so done with all the negativity around here.

    Noxart May 26, 2025 8:53 am

    Yes thank you!
And (not excusing) but when Heeseo understood that Taekyung wouldn't choose him, he didn't kidnapped Taekyung thinking he would love him back at some point (even tho he maybe wished for it). He intentionally r@ped him (knowing what it was), he forced himself to be violent (even tho he loved Tkg and didn't want to). So that if he couldn't be loved, he would be hated.
This story is not romanticising r@pe. Heeseo knew what he was doing. And it's heartbreaking to see.
This story is very well written, with very complex emotional characters. We're far from titles like Jinx

    Noxart May 26, 2025 8:57 am

In short, what I meant is that Heeseo is far from the usual toxic seme who uses r@pe to assert dominance and possessiveness. That was not his goal. (Not that there is ever a good reason to do it)

Exactly this. As I said in one of my previous comments here, not everything is black or white, there's always something in between. Heeseo knew what he was doing, even back then 8 years ago, he would do extreme things just to get Taekyung's attention, so doing things to earn Taekyung's hate is something predictable of Heeseo. There is no excuse for what he did, but there is a reason behind it. But the same with any other stories, it depends on these two characters to address their issues together.

People would preach about morals, like don't come to me about morals here when this is a piece of literature. I know my own morals and I take them seriously IN REAL LIFE.

Taekyung really intended to escape at first so he called Jaewon. He changed his mind when he saw on the news that his so-called mother was finally getting arrested. He also saw Heeseo with his mother's sister (on the news). With all of Tae-kyung's flashbacks, he's finally FINALLY ending his indecisiveness and went to look for Heeseo for some answers/explanation, at least I hope that's the case after reading up to chapter 88 of the raws.

Also, I don't understand why people kept saying Stockholm Syndrome here? Since the beginning, Taekyung has always been sympathizing with Heeseo? It's nothing new, those feelings did not even disappear, it's just him being indecisive, afraid of losing the only family he had and afraid of failing Heeseo when he promised he'll stand with him. He did not develop those feelings he has towards Heeseo while he was captived. All those times he tried to soften up to Heeseo while he was captived, he really did all that to try to escape, that's not Stockholm Syndrome.

I'm not blaming Taekyung, just trying to say his case wasn't Stockholm Syndrome.

Sadly, due to health reasons, this manhwa is on hiatus until mid June, I think.

    Noir May 18, 2025 3:58 am

So true. He’s not even one of those timid ukes…he’s been a power bottom this whole time. People forget that when Heeseo was younger, smaller, and still relying on Taekyung, the dynamic was different, but the feelings were already there. Even after Heeseo stabbed him, Taekyung wasn’t just hurt, he was mostly mad at himself for failing to be the support he wanted to be. The kind of support Heeseo’s mother once was to him.

    eunho’s habi May 18, 2025 4:09 am

From my May 11 comment, looool ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ We already saw in CHAPTER 1 what's about to go down. If this triggers you so much that you can't see and understand the DEPTH of the story and characters, then this STORY is obviously not for you.

Honestly, it might be too late to most, but to enjoy a story, you gotta think differently for each story you read. You can't say this sucks, just because this story didn't go the same wholesome path as the others?

You see violence etc, you judge the whole story, the characters and the writers. There's always something in between, not just right or wrong and I love it when it involves psychological reasoning in between.

That's just my opinion though, of course it's on you how you see a story, but just because you see a story negatively, just because you can't fathom or refuse to understand what's happening, or why it's happening, doesn't mean you can shit on it and those who actually understand and enjoy the story.

I understand why it can be confusing, with the scenes switching an all, but if they really understand what's this manhwa is all about, there shouldn't be any confusion, at all.

read the chapters again, it's sad when people don't understand what's going on...

another spoiler lol, don't read if you don't want it

Tae-kyung most likely asked if their "mother" is okay THAT WAY since it's Jae-won, but what he really wanted to find out is that Hee-seo hasn't commited a murder.

Remember in their lil game, Tae-kyung asked if Hee-seo killed someone. It's what he's worried about the most. I'm guessing the date of the video is the same date Tae-kyung met up with that guy in the warehouse. Hee-seo really just so happened to be there with the "mother" (yeah he took her and actually plans to k1ll her - maybe the place was planned by the mother after all to pin Hee-seo or Tae-kyung), but then he saw bloodied Tae-kyung... so Tae-kyung has no idea if that woman is still alive, not like he really care for her like he did before, he was planning to dissolve the adoption right?

On the next episode, he'll see on the tv at the hospital that their "mother" has been taken in to custody for the d3ath of that Im beom(?) guy. He runs around in the hospital looking for Hee-seo. Anyway, it'll be clear in the next 3 episodes what Hee-seo really wanted. Actually, it doesn't look like Tae-kyung's included in his plans at all, but since he's become a target...

People saying how the story and the author disappointed them on S2 when we already saw in CHAPTER 1 what's about to go down. If this triggers you so much that you can't see and understand the depth of the story and characters, then this STORY is obviously not for you.

Jae-won and Tae-kyung? Naaaaaa, not in this lifetime. Yeah, the author could have develop his character, but up to what level? Until Tae-kyung sees him as a love interest? Someone who can save him? Someone Tae-kyung could could put his trust and confide to? Jae-won will take Tae-kyung's side, but can he understand Tae-kyung?

I saw the raws and it's up to chapter 88, currently on hiatus for a month due to the author's health. If you want Tae-kyung to run and escape, you won't be seeing that because he chose to stay with Hee-seo in the end even after calling Jae-won.
