When I first started reading Yaoi/BL stories I focused on the smut centered stories but as I’ve gotten older I appreciate the plot driven stories way more then the 18+ scenes. Tbh I get irritated when a story is only about smut. Like what’s the point of spending all that time writing a story for it to only focus on sex and pleasing the weirdos who get off to it. I also think it’s interesting and a little scary how much the BL/GL fans supports the fuxked up aspects of a story (like rape or assault) like the story could be complete ass but a fav bc it has smut in it. The story could also be decent but be ruined by one of the main characters being a rapist (im thinking of jinx btw)

I was reading this one bl and people in the comments were complaining about how slow it was and how we weren’t getting enough smut. I was flabbergasted bc what the hell.

Bc I don’t see the appeal. I rated this story so low so I wanted re read to see why I did that and now I know…. The dynamic for the couple was cute at first before the random ass assault and rape scenes. The ex was an ass and I felt sick whenever he would show up- that man literally deserves a castration with a dull knife.
